This Privacy Policy explains how Buktiin (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Buktiin mobile application (“App”).
1. Information We Collect
- Camera and Microphone: Used to record video/audio. Content remains on your device unless you choose to upload.
- Photos/Videos (Local Files): Recordings are stored locally. Uploads are optional and user-initiated.
- Location (Optional): If granted, approximate location may be used for features/metadata. The App works without location access.
- Usage and Analytics: Aggregate, pseudonymized metrics to improve performance and reliability.
- Advertising Data (LITE only): Google AdMob may process device and ad interaction data (e.g., Advertising ID, IP for approximate location) to serve ads. We apply content filtering aligned with “halal” guidelines, while AdMob remains the ad provider.
- Purchases: Payments are handled by Google Play Billing; we do not receive full payment instrument details.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide core features such as recording, playback, and management of videos.
- Optional cloud upload to your configured Supabase storage when you choose to upload.
- Improve performance, diagnose issues, and maintain security.
- Show ads in the LITE tier with frequency controls.
3. Sharing of Information
We do not sell personal data. Limited sharing occurs with:
- Supabase (storage) when you upload.
- Google AdMob (ads, LITE only).
- Analytics/Crash tools (if enabled) for aggregate performance.
Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy.
4. Storage and Security
- Local: Recordings remain on your device by default.
- In transit: Uploads use HTTPS encryption.
- At rest: Uploaded content is stored by Supabase according to your project settings.
5. Your Choices
- Permissions: Manage Camera/Microphone/Location in device settings.
- Upload Control: Uploads are explicitly initiated by you.
- Deletion: Delete local files in-app or via your file manager. For uploaded files, manage deletion in your Supabase project.
- Ads: Upgrading to PRO/ULTIMATE removes ads.
6. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the age defined by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. International Transfers
Your data may be processed in other countries depending on your chosen service regions (e.g., Supabase).
8. Changes
We may update this Policy. The effective date will be revised; material changes may be notified in-app or on our website.
